Rodent Control and Exclusion
Norway rats down in the substructure and mice at the vent line. Traps clear the population, sealing decides whether it returns.
Learn about Rodent Control and ExclusionSmall as it is, Wade has the Cape Fear River just off the north side of the town limits and farmland in most other directions, and both of those decide what turns up indoors. US 301 runs through the middle, twelve miles southwest to Fayetteville and twelve northeast to Dunn, with I-95 passing southeast of town at Exit 61. Around six hundred people live inside the limits, so the work here is property by property rather than street by street. Field edges push mice and rats toward buildings once the ground has been cut, and a shed, a barn or an unused garage is where they settle. Wasps do the same in an eave nobody looks at. Sealing gaps and clearing what leans against a wall does more here than repeat spraying.
The pests here are not random. These are the local conditions behind most of the calls we take in Wade.
Because Wade is largely a small older town center with scattered rural properties around it, the same few weak points come up job after job: the seal around the air conditioning line set, the gap behind an outdoor tap, and the joint where a porch slab was poured hard against the wall.
Anywhere close to Cape Fear River, expect sand that drains fast at the surface and stays damp underneath. Roaches, silverfish and camel crickets follow that moisture up through the floor, so treating them without drying the space out just books the same visit again.
Warm and humid, with river bottom ground staying wet longer than the fields around it. Every stage has a window where treatment does the most good, and hitting that window is the difference between ending a problem and repeating it.

An old site on high ground above the river, and the kind of long standing timber structure where wood boring insect evidence is worth a proper look rather than a glance.

Largely, yes, but the work happens before the season rather than during it. Close the gaps that already exist under doors and around service penetrations, screen crawl space vents, keep feed and seed in sealed containers, and pull stored material away from walls so the space can be checked. Trapping without that is a yearly ritual instead of a fix.
It should at least be looked at. Outbuildings are where the population lives between visits, and they sit a short walk from the house. Note too that North Carolina's inspection report only covers permanently attached structures, so a detached barn is examined when the client asks for it, not automatically.
A nest well away from doors and walkways can often be left to die off over winter. One over a doorway, in a porch ceiling or in a wall void beside where people pass every day is worth dealing with. Do not seal the entry while a nest is active inside, because the insects will look for another way out, often indoors.
Roach calls after heavy rain and fire ant stings get moved up the list, so same day is normal here. Anything where somebody is at risk, or an animal is already under the floor, we take around the clock at the after-hours rate. The rest is better in a standard slot and we will tell you so.
Findings, photographs and an estimated range before a single product is opened, and a straight answer on whether one visit ends it.
