The treatments are carried out by licensed operators, not by this website

This is a free way to reach pest control help in Fayetteville and across Cumberland County. The website itself treats nothing. Every job is performed by an independent local operator credentialed through the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which licenses structural pest control in three classes: registered technicians, certified applicators and licensees. Licenses are issued by phase, so the phases printed on a company's license are what tell you the categories of work it is cleared to perform. The license, the insurance and the standard of the workmanship belong to that operator, and so does any guarantee given on a job. Ask to see the license and the insurance certificate before anyone opens a tank, the same way you would with a roofer.

In this state the agreement has to be in writing

North Carolina does not leave that to preference. A contract for controlling or preventing wood-destroying organisms, termites included, must be in writing, and the rules set out what it has to contain: the company name together with the license number and phases, a foundation diagram showing whether the infestation is active or inactive and where visibly damaged timbers are, whether re-inspections will be made and roughly how often, the conditions under which a re-treatment will be done, and the total price for the service. A proposal that arrives without those is a reason to slow down rather than to sign. Whatever such an agreement says, it runs between you and the operator who issued it. This website is not a party to it, holds no copy of it, and is in no position to enforce it.

Where the operator’s responsibility ends and the website’s begins

Reading a page here commits you to nothing. Booking a treatment creates an agreement with the operator, and deciding who to hire and on what terms stays your call. As regards this website, and so far as the law permits, there is no liability for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising out of using it. That limit is about the website. It has no bearing on any duty attached to work that is actually booked and carried out, which sits with the operator who did it and with the state rules that govern that work. The short notice at the foot of every page sets out the same position in more formal wording.

Every figure published here is a band, never a quote

Prices on this site, the whole pricing guide included, are estimated bands published so you can budget. They are guide figures rather than quotes, they are not an offer, and neither side is held to them. The real number follows an inspection of the actual property and the pest actually found. In this market the building moves that number more than the square footage does, since a slab with a bath trap and plumbing penetrations to seal prices differently from the same house sitting over a crawl space.

Follow the label on anything you buy, because on a pesticide the label is the law. Subterranean termites are the first thing to leave alone, since soil treatment and reading mud tubes correctly is trained work and getting it wrong buys a second problem. The second is a hard prohibition rather than advice: bat evictions and exclusions are not allowed anywhere in North Carolina from 1 May through 31 July, because the pups cannot fly yet and sealing a roost shut kills them. Inside that window the work is inspection, planning and protecting the inside of the house, with the exclusion done from 1 August. Stinging insect nests and anything reached off a ladder or from under a floor are also somebody else's job.
